Website cache is like a storage box in your computer. It keeps copies of website parts you’ve seen before. This helps websites load faster next time you visit. When you go to a website again, your computer checks this box first. If it finds the parts it needs there, it uses them instead of downloading everything again. This saves time and internet data.
When a website is updated, some users might still see the old version because:
- Their device is using the old cached version.
- The cache hasn’t been cleared or updated yet.
It’s like having an old map in your car. Even if the roads change, you’ll still see the old routes until you get a new map.
To fix this, users usually need to:
- Refresh the page
- Clear their browser cache
- Or wait for the cache to naturally update
If you want to speed up options #3 for all users, this video will show you how.
